DOUCAL'S
English shoemaking meets Italian innovation.
In 1968, Mario Giannini opened a shoemaking workshop in the heart of the Marches region of Italy. It was called Ducale (English: Duke) because it produced luxury items for an aristocratic clientele. Mario visited England where he learned all the shoe construction secrets and was able to identify the main features of English shoe style. In 1973, he founded Doucal's with an English-sounding name that reflects the ambitions of an Italian man who appreciated the style and quality of British footwear.

Mario's sons took the company to the next level. Today, Doucal's is bigger than ever and still known for English aesthetics and a unique Italian fit.
